Husainiah Bin Khamis in brief

Geographical location:
The Husainiah is located in the northeastern part of the Al Sanabis close to the capital Manama, which borderes Al Sanabis on the east and itself is boarded by the Gulf Sea. Al Sanabis is bounded on the north by Budaiya Street which is one of the largest and most beautiful streets in Bahrain due to its rural coastal nature.

The Husainiah was founded in 1877 AD falling in 1295 HD by the late Al hajj Ahmed Bin Ali bin Khamis.

Historical stands:
The Husainiah contributed in maintaining the security and safety of people, their property and honor; especially when the region was subjected to robbery, looting and armed robbery by thieves during the twenties of the last century, through the application of the night guard.

Managing the Husainiah was carried out after the death of the founder by his own son Hajj Husain Bin Khamis in the year 1940.

The Husainiah hosted the constituent meeting for the members selection of the National Union senior in the year 1954, the first national conference gathering between both political symbols of national communities (Sunni and Shiaa).

The Husainiah's first Demolition begun and the construction started in 1970.

The Husainiah contributed to the resident's education and made efforts to enhance reading, writing and basic school subjects such as Arabic and English language, numeric and proper observation to the holy Qoraan. Many of the pioneers and leaders have had the privilege of learning in the Husainiah.

The Husainiah witnessed the first direct Management election by the people in 1995.

The Husainiah experienced many activities varying from religious, cultural, educational and social; and has always been distinguished by the unique conviction it carries about the importance of those activities and their prominent role for the advancement of society and their ability to pulling it out of the crucible of ignorance.

An overview on the Husainiah's activities
The Husainiah flourishes with varied significant activities in relevance to each area.

Religious Efforts:
In the area of religious efforts; the councils assess people through rhetoric speech activity, which is one of the core activities of the Husainiah. And it is another privilege of the Husainiah being so keen to introduce many distinguished speakers who can enrich the Husaini podium and who are actively presenting tender culturally balanced religious lectures especially during the month of Muharram and the holy month of Ramadan and many other religious occasions.

Al Azaa processions:
The Declaration of grief, mourning, condolences and conducting sad processions on the tribute of mortality figure the imams Al Husain became a persuade exercise the Husainiah undertook for years since its founding.

Preparations for all Azaa parades and providing all its needs is the responsibility of the Husainiah's management, beside assigning regulators and technicians who makes sure the coverage of the events are being transmitted successfully to the largest possible number of people especially that the parades are being attended by broad public from many countries.

The Husainiah also holds prayers in many occasions like the holy nights during the holy month of Ramadan and some prayers when eclipse and eclipses falls.

In the area of cultural efforts and artistic activities; fall the celebrations which are held in a variety of occasions like the birth of important Islamic figures, Eids, and other joyous nights as to spread pleasure in the hearts of people and encourage them to participate as taught by the Imam Sadeq (p) "Our Shiaa are created from our holy soil, they celebrate our happiness and we grieve for our grief ".

Stage play Activity:
The many theater activities the Husainiah arranges every now and then enables the Husainiah to deliver its message more clearly to all segments of society at all levels, through interactive theatre plays in the areas of historical or contemporary matters.

Montaging Activity
Producing photographic films of historic milestones represents the Husainiah's qualitative play to upgrade the technical work in the film industry; the first film production was "Al Hussain's Tragedy", which exposes what happened to the Imam Al-Hussein (p) in the famous tragedy of Karbala, followed by the second film "The Alter's Strike ", which presents the life of the Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (p) in two parts.
It also maintains some of the exhibitions relevant to art talents, photographs, publications and heritage.

High-tech Information:
In the area of information with which the Husainiah copes up with the technological development, information and communications revolution; this has enabled the Husainiah to deliver its message to the people through a non-traditional means of communication and take it beyond its geographical borders.

The broad international audiences are also served by the Husainiah's official website that enables highlighting the various activities of the Husseinieh including a direct broadcast service; it also provides an opportunity for all of the writers and literatures, intellectuals and others to participate and criticize, analysis and express their various views through the website.

Education Efforts:
In the area of education; the Husainiah hosts a group of children and young people to learn and be trained on how to perform prayers, other sessions are arranged weekly or daily and concentrates on teaching Quraan, manners, beliefs and ethics; out of believing in these Islamic basics and their ability in preventing teenage Deviation.

The Husainiah also started arranging for some training courses for the preparation of qualified active members and proved awareness of the importance of this aspect because of its role in the contributes efficiency and enriching the social scene specialists.

In the social sphere, the Husainiah aims to strengthen the bonds of love and interest between members of the community through visiting and counseling and participation in the celebrations and the people's Joys, lending a hand of help and assistance to the needy people of the area based on the community's charitable contributions tenures.

The Husainiah believes that these efforts contribute to the strengthening of the cultural bonds; and in driving more attention to the Husainiah, in addition to honoring individuals who have participated in the activities of the Husainiah.

Beside its role in encouraging the development of creativity self-esteems, thus increasing the percentages of employment between involved members.

In the area of serving the Husainiah's visitors members works on the provision of services and proving hospitality by serving water, tea, coffee and some beverages and meals as to welcome the Imam Hussain(p) guests who deserve this service.

The Husainiah's group of volunteers are keen to serve in any occasion as the Husainiah and all its facilities gets cleaned up and ready to welcome guests.
